Do you provide a free removals quotation?
Yes, we have experienced Blue Peter removal consultants that can visit your home, evaluate the size and complexity of your move and provide you with a quotation tailored to your specific requirements. There is no charge or obligation involved

Is there a charge for an estimate?
The estimate is free. However, estimates at remote locations may be charged.

When should I contact the moving company?
1-2 Months before Moving Day. Typically a move is booked 2 weeks in advance; however Blue Peter can accommodate any time frame, including same day bookings.

What country can you move to? Also, which city in the country can you move to?
Moving almost anywhere is possible. What your requirements are going to be will depend on the country where you are going to relocate.Insterstate move is possible anywhere within the country.

Do I need to pack it myself?
Many countries are no longer accepting shipments that were packed by the owner. In addition, any damage incurred to items you packed yourself may not be covered by transit protection. Therefore, we advise that you let Blue Peter pack your household items. All Blue Peter crews are professionally trained and have years of experience packing people’s precious belongings.

Should I hire professional Movers?
Moving yourself can save money, but it takes much longer. You have to pack your belongings, find vehicles to move with, load, and finally unload everything. And you’ll probably also have to ask for help, either from friends or family, which can add to the stress.
Are there any particular items that you do not transport?
The rules regarding restricted items differ somewhat depending upon the type of move, ie local, interstate or international. In general though there are certain items of a hazardous nature that we are not allowed to transport no matter what including items such as: flammable liquids, explosives, corrosive materials, LPG, pesticides, ammunition, oxides, petrol, paints and such like. We recommend that you contact us for a more specific answer based upon the type of move that you have and the item of concern.

Will you disassemble and reassemble my furniture when moving?
Part of our removal service is to disassemble and reassemble simple and everyday type furniture including beds, wardrobes and desks. However, our removalists are not specialists in this field and any complex items may require the services of a handyman or modular furniture specialist. Blue Peter consultant will evaluate and discuss this with you during the course of our pre move inspection and advise/quote you accordingly.

I have a quote for groupage/consolidation service, what does it means?
A groupage or shared container service is a mode of shipping whereby each shipper or customer shares the cost of shipping the container.  This form of shipping is completely legal to most international destinations and is commonly offered to customers with smaller sized shipments to popular overseas destinations. This form of shipping is generally slower than FCL (Full Container Load) or LCL (Less than Container Load) and relies upon the removal company filling the container prior to shipping.  If you are in no hurry to receive your goods at the other end then this is a good option. If you are concerned about the transit time then you should discuss this with your Blue peter consultant and ask them for a option for FCL or LCL so you can make an informed decision.

My move date changed. What should I do?
Contact your move coordinator as soon as you can if your move dates have changed. He/she can process any changes to your plan and discuss updates; keep in mind your estimate may change depending on the dates you selected.

What if I need storage between my pickup and delivery dates?
No problem. We have storage facilities available and can accommodate short or long term gaps between pickup and delivery. Again, Blue Peter consultant can provide you with rates and information on this.

Should I take out moving insurance?
While Blue Peter professional crew will pack, transport and unpack your belongings as safely and securely as possible, it is important to note that these items will be travelling on a boat, plane, truck or other mode of transport – all of which carry inherent risks.
Blue Peter consultant will explain the risks of loss or damage during the removal and transportation of your goods until their delivery at your new home. These risks generally increase with distance and different ways of transportation. Our consultant will discuss with you the different options in insurance cover to help you understand and choose the cover that best suits your needs.

What kind of documents do you need when you move overseas?
For international move, you have to provide passport copy, valid or cancelled visa. For transport of vehicle, certificate of origin is mandatory.

How long will my household goods take to arrive at my overseas destination?
The shipping time can vary according to your destination, your Blue Peter consultant can advise you of an approximate timeframe. It is important to note that on arrival, your shipment will have to be cleared by customs before delivery to your new address.

Can I move my car/ boat/ trailer/ caravan/ motorbike?
Yes, Blue Peter can arrange the transportation of your vehicles to your new destination. For further information, please refer to our Car Shipping service.

Do you transport pets?
Yes, we have arrangements with a specialist pet transporter on a domestic and international basis. Please refer our pet relocation service.

Is there specialist packing that can be used for our Art and Antiques?
Yes, Blue Peter specializes in the transportation of art and antiques throughout the shipping, whether it is a sideboard or a prized art collection. Items requiring specialist care will be identified and a made to measure wooden crate will be used to protect the item during transit.

When do you processes payment for your move?
For local moves, no deposit is required and you pay the day of your move.
For long distance moves– 50% of your balance is due at the time of booking and the remaining balance is due on the day of the move
